AMERICA TO BUILD 200 SHIPS

(Received 4, 12.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Jan. 3. President Roosevelt announced that preparations had been made for a 350million dollar new shipbuilding programme providing for about 200 ships. He also said that 36-million dollars had already been allotted to the Maritime Commission to start the construction of shipyards for the building programme. The ships will be about 7500 tons.
