Invasion of Continent Already Begun?
DARING BRITISH RAIDS INTO FRANCE
Received Sunday, 7.30 p.m. An American Press correspondent who has returned from England says Britain has already begun an invasion of the Continent. There have been at least nine daring raids into Germanoccupied France. Parties of fifty riding motor-cycles and armed with machine-gims have landed from trawlers and smacks. Some penetrated as far as Amiens. The purposes of the raids are to terrorise and harass the Germans who are thinly strung out to a point of great vulnerability, to bolster French morale, to capture prisoners to obtain information, and sabotage. The correspondent adds that neutrals expect that Britain will be superior in a Continental invasion.
