Baby May Have Been Carried Off by Eaglehawk
MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE IN NS.W. VILLAGE United Press Association—Bv Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Sunday, 9.20 p.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 5. The police are baffled by the mysterious disappearance of a baby boy aged two and a-half years from a hamlet near Dubbo on Christmas Day and fear he has been taken by an eagle hawk. A police dog was unable to take the searchers past the precise spot where the infant was last seen. A resident of Dubbo reports having shot an eagle hawk this week which measured seven feet from wingtip to wingtip. It is quite common lor these birds to carry away lambs and devour them. The theory that the child could have been kidnapped is entirely dismissed.
