Anglo-Turkish Friendship

LONDON, Jan. 1. The recent British victories in the Mediterranean were referred to in a message sent to the Turkish people by the Prime Minister, Mr Churchill. “It may be that the recent victories in the Mediterranean are a forecast of what the coming year may bring,” he said. “Standing on the threshold of the New Year, we look forward confidently to the trials and struggles ahead of us, knowing that our war resources are every day increasing and are backed by the mighty output of the United States.”

Mr Churchill said that the friendship between Britain and Turkey had stood the test of time, and in the days to come it would be a force of immense important.
