Army Comforts Despatched From Feilding

The following supplies of comforts for men in the army were packed and despatched from Feilding during the month of October, under the supervision of Mesdames C. L. Hunter and H. M. Beatson:—l7J dozen hussifs, 5£ dozen balaclavas, 24 scarves, 19 pairs socks, 15 caps, 11 carry-alls, 10 pay book covers, 4J dozen gauze shirts, and 6 carry-all bags and 8 hussifs (gift contributions for local men going into camp). Contributions are acknowledged from the following:—Awahuri, Stanwav, Pohangina, Apiti Anglican, Foxton Beach Ladies’ Sewing Guilds, Kiwitea-Kim-bolton W.D.F.U., Rangiwahia, Waituna, Hal combe and Apiti Patriotic Societies, Valley Road Sewing Guild, Apiti School children, Feilding Agricultural High School, Lytton Street and Convent Schools, Bunnythorpe, Oroua Downs, Ohakea, Bulls, Bainesse, Waiata, Foxton, Parewanui, Makino, Ashhurst and Kimbolton Women’s Institutes, Colyton Patriotic Society, Taonui School children, Mesdames Clark, Port, Shorter, Knight, L. Wright, B. Short, Mulholland, Wilson, Fankhauser, Jones, Fry, Billings, Cleland, Fowler, Baker, Kidson, Krull, Shannon, A. B. Shannon, Waldin, Aitken, Glasgow, Dowrick, Penhey, Mills, J. Knight, Lamont, Newell, Maguire, M. Reid, Shannon, Goodbehere, Pearce, Murdoch and Harrison. The following goods were packed and forwarded to Air Force relations at the beginning of October:—33 pairs mittens, 7 pairs gloves, 6 scarves, 2 pullovers, 19 balaclavas (per Mesdames W. G.
