Derailed Locomotive To be Examined
COMMISSION OF INQUIRY AUCKLAND, Oct. 31. Pending the appointment by the Government of a commission of inquiry into tho railway accident at Mercer last Monday, which resulted in the death of the driver and the fireman on the northbound Limited express, the derailed locomotive will not be replaced on the line. It is understood that, as part of the inquiry, the engine will be inspected by the commission in the position where it came to rest after leaving the lines.
