(From Our Own Correspondent.) Mr. and Mrs. J. Young, accompanied by Mrs. Taylor, spent the week end in Wanganui. Masters A. and J. Bonner, of Leviu, spent a few days with Mrs. A. Bonner, of Carey Street. Mrs. Carl Nicola' guests for the week end were Miss Ngairo Blundell, of Wellington, and Mrs. F. Liley and son John, of Hastings. On Saturtiay evening an enjoyablo liance was held by the Progressive Asso- (
ciatioa. Music was supplied by a projfessional orchestra. Items were enjoyed as follows: 'Humorous songs, Mr. W. Corke; light uing sketches, Mr. Adams; hornpipe, Irish jig, pupils of Miss June Scott. Competition dances were: Lucky Gay Gordons, Miss Isabel Anderson and Mr D: Smith; lucky spot waltz, Mrs. Kennard and Mr. R. Cooksley. A box of chocolates was won by Mr. C. Prouse.
