Milder Temperatures Ter Preen Association. WELLINGTON, Oct. 30. An anti-cyclone, centred in the north Tasman Sea, extends on to New Zealand, but a series of westerly depressions is passing to the south of the South Island. Winds: Over tho southern half of tho South Island moderate to strong and from a westerly quarter; elsewhere Bouth-westcrlies predominating, fresh at times in tho north and about Cook Strait, but otherwise light or moderate. Seas (New Zealand waters): Bough at times in and about Foveaux Strait; elsewhere slight or moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong winds from a westerly quarter in the far southern portion with rough seas; elsewhere moderate south-westerly winds with moderate seas. Weather: Changeable in Southland and in South Westland, with occasional showers; conditions elsewhere fair to fine, though with considerable morning low cloud in western districts. .
