Red Cross Working Bee
Friday afternoon last was an exceptionally busy one at the Borough Council chambers. In addition to the usual sowing afternoon thero was the wrapping of 40 Christmas parcels to bo posted to our boys ovorseas. Each parcel contained a local paper, a pair of socks, a khaki handkerchief, a tin of barley sugar, and a short note of Christmas greetings. There are to be 100 parcels ( sent and the remainder will be posted as soon as the socks come in. The following are the results of the raffles drawn on Friday:— Lemons, donated by Mrs. McKenzie, won by Mrs. E. Scandrett. Vase, donated by Mrs. Dickens, won by Mary Hutton. Marmalade, donated by Mrs. D. Gregory, won by Mrs. S. K. Siddells. Tulips, donated by Miss Anderson, won by Miss M. Tylee. Meat pies, donated by Mrs. Waldeman, won by Mrs. N. Rawson. Milk jug covers, donated by Mrs. E. Jones, won by Miss Bently.
