Last Respects to Late Mr. A. E. Jull

(From Our Own Correspondent.) HASTINGS, Sept. 20. The funeral of Mr A. E. Jull, Mem- [ ber for Waipawa, took place at Waij pawa this afternoon, there being an exceptionally big assemblage to pay their last respects to one who had given outstanding service to the community during the past 60 years. The Hon. P. C. Webb, Minister of Labour, was present as the representative of the Government, and the Hon. Adam Hamilton, Leader of the National Party, of which the late Mr Jull was a j member, was also in attendance. Almost ; every local body in Central Hawke’s Bay, and the majority of the Hastings-Napier districts, were repreI sented. J St. Peter’s Church was crowded for i the service conducted by the Rev. W. S. C. Stephens, and en route to St. Peter’s Cemetery the cortege passed through a big throng of citizens and residents of the surrounding countryi side. At the graveside there were hundreds of floral tributes, and services | were conducted by Mr Stephens, and , the New Zealand deputy-Grand Master, Bro. N. J. McKay, of the Manchester Unity of Oddfellows.
