British Butter Ration Reduced

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Sept. 25. Several changes in food rations have been introduced by the Ministry of Food. To conserve supplies, the butter ration is redticed from 4oz. to 2oz. a week. The margarine ration has been increased by 2oz. the meat ration has also been increased. Although the weekly ration of eight ounces of fat is not affected, after September 30 only two ounces of it will be available in butter. In making this announcement, the Ministry of Food explains that this is a pracautionary measure to meet the normal seasonal reduction of output from Australia and New Zealand, which is always at its lowest in September and October but rises progressively from November onwards. The seasonal increase in fresh meat has enabled the ration to be temporarily increased from 1/10 worth of meat each week to 2/2 worth.
