The latest development in the Federal elections is that good progress is being made by the Government candidates in the doubtful seats where the distribution of preferences is favouring them in most of the fifteen doubtful seats. It is now predicted that the Menzies Government will be returned with the same majority as in the last Parliament—42 to 32—and a very slender majority of about three in the Senate.
