London Again Bears Brunt of Attack

Received Friday, 1.6 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 26. A communique from the Air Ministry and Ministry of Home Security

states: “The enemy continued his offensive over Britain on Wednesday night dropping many bombs in parts of England and Wales, but London and the suburbs in the surrounding district bore tho brunt of the attack. Fires started in several London areas but were soon under control. Towns and the country in South-east England were also bombed and there was some damage and a few casualties.”

Buildings recently damaged by bombs included Selfridges, the American Associated Press office and the American and Indian students’ hostels.
