Rev. B. C. Nottage, of the New Hel> rides Presbyterian Mission, at presen; on furlough in New Zealand, has forwarded his resignation to the missions committee for health reasons.

Rev. C. T. Symons, of Palmerston North, senior youth director of tho Methodist Church of New Zealand, will leave shortly for an extended visit to Australia, accompanied by Mrs. Symons.

Mr. J. A. Nash was re-elected president of the Manawatu Bowling Centre yesterday, an office which ho has filled for 116 years constituting, it is believed, a record among bowling centres in the Dominion.

The following representatives of the New Zealand woolgrowers have been appointed members of the New Zealand Wool Council: Messrs. H. D. Acland, L. Maclean, Sir W. Perry and Mr. G. C. Warren.

The following members of Messrs. Barraud and Abraham, Ltd. ’s staff will leave next week to join tho Fourth Reinforcements: Messrs. H. W. Petre, A. G. McNeilo, L. Major, B. P. Spclman, J. J. Robertson and K. Cushing. This will bring the total number of the staff serving with the Forces to 16.

A New Zealand airman, Pilot-Officer Winton Selwood Shann, lias been reported missing as the result of operations on Wednesday, according to advice received by his sister, Mrs. D. McMillan, of Mission Bay. He was formerly employed by the Producers and Citizons Co-operative Assurance Company, Limited, of Auckland. Born in Christchurch 22 years ago, Pilot-Officer Shann is a son of Mrs. N. Cooper, of Belfast, Christchurch. Ho was educated at the Christchurch Boys' High {School where he was a prefect and had an outstanding sports record particularly as a swimmer. On leaving school he worked in a Government office in Wellington before coming to Auckland. He gave up his Auckland position to join the Air Force and after training at Wigram left for England last April.
