(From Our Own Correspondent.) There was a good attendance at the final night of the Table Tennis Club, visitors being present from both Palmerston North, Marton and Feilding clubs. The following are the winners of the various tables during the season: Miss P. Myer, A. C. Matthews, R. Tattle, C. Bishop and F. Meyer. Junior section, Miss. Pam Butler. Results of the tournament held on the closing night are: Ist section semi-final, A. C. Matthews 21 beat Miss P. Myer 18; C. Bishop 24 beat R. Tattle 22; F. Myer a bye. Second section, F. Myer 21 beat A. C. Matthews 16; C. Bishop a bye. Final, F. Myer 27 beat C. Bishop 25. The winners of the several Buttons for the year were: A grade, R. Lumsden; B grade, N. Butler; C grade, E. Butler and Mass J. Davey; D grade, L. Tostevin and M. Richardson. Ladder games resulted: R. Lumsden 55 games, Miss P. Myers 42. Association, F. Myer 30 wins, C. Bishop 25 wins. Friendly matches: (seniors) G. Williams 14 wins, (juniors) R. Tattle 14 wins. Successful Afternoon A further successful afternoon was held recently at the home of Mrs. A. K. Drew, “Brooklyne,” in aid of funds for parcels for soldiers who have left this district. Tho competitions for the afternoon were won by Mesdames F. S. Collier, G. W. Richardson, and G. L. K. Drew. Lady’s spray was won by Mrs. H. V. Bond. * * Ship wrecked” person was won by Miss M. Butler. Mrs. J. Tricker (Bulls) rendered a voqal solo while Mrs. F. 8. Collier entertained with a pianoforte solo. An enjoyable community sing was lead by Mrs. Collier. At the conclusion of tho afternoon, Mrs. W. E. Pearce thanked all who had come along to make tho function such a success, also Mrs. Drew for the use of her homo and Mesdames Iricker and Collier for the enjoyable items.
