Fine Work of Civil Defence Services
(British Official Wireless) RUGBY, Sept. 24. The practical experience of the past few weeks lias demonstrated tho soundness of the organisation and tho excellent spirit of the civil defence services according to a report by tho London County Council Civil Defence Committee. Tho greatest demands have been made on tho London fire service and the regular and auxiliary services aliko worked with tho utmost energy whatever the risk. The London ambulance service, including the auxiliary service, transported many air raid casualties to hospital and despite tho blackout tho average time taken to reach the casualty has been only seven minutes from the receipt of the call.
