Pigs, Poultry and Produce

The Dominion. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report receiving a capacity yarding of pigs at their sale held on Thursday, and to a full bench of buyers a clearance of over 400 head was disposed at satisfactory rates. Poultry also was in heavy supply over two thousand birds being penned. A very spirited sale was held resulting in an improvement in price for table birds. Turkey gobblers were keenly sought after, realising up to 28s each. Fruit and produce were in heavy supply and sold as follows: Pigs.—Best weaners, 15s to 20s; medium, 13s to 14s; and small to backward 10s to 12s; slips, 24s to 27s Gd; heavy stores, 33s 6d to 39s Gd; light stores, 27s to 32s Gd; porkers, 40s, 44s Gd, 49s to 50s; sow and litter, £5 ss; lambs, 20s Gd to 225. Poultry.—Heavy 8.0. rens, Ss to 9s Gd per pair; best W.L. hens, 5s 6d to 63 Gd; heavy 8.0. cockerels, 7s 6d to 8s 6d; W.L. cockerels, 5s to 7s per pair; light cockerels, 2s to 4s Gd; young ducks, 7s Gd to 9s; old ducks, 4s to 6s per pair; turkey gobblers, 16s, 245, to 28s; turkey hens, 12s to 18s; geese, prime 5s to 5s 3d, light 3s Gd to 4s each; pullets, 4s to 5s each.
