Winds: Easterly to north-easterly prevailing, strong in exposed positions on the east coast, but otherwise moderate to fresh in force. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough to rough on the east coast and between Cape Egmont and Farewell Spit; elsewhere slight or moderate. Weather: Cloudy to overcast and unsettled generally, with some rain or drizzle in most districts and mist or fog in places. Temperatures mild. YESTERDAY’S WEATHER Auckland: Rain, moderate w’ind.
