Attractive Frocking In Repertory Show

Although there are only two women in the cast of “Bird in Hand,” the Repertory Show which opens a threenight season in the Empire Hall tnis evening, no effort has been spared to \ ensure this being effective and in keepjing with the setting of the play. The fact that this department is in the capable hands of Miss Mavis Mortland is sufficient to say that it will please the audience. I Mrs. F. Gatley as the motherly Mrs. Greenleaf, wears in the first act a brown checked skirt, with brown cardigan and beige blouse in tailored effect. Miss Elaine Hall as Joan Greenleaf makes an effective entrance in a charming frock of teal blue crepe made with fully flared skirt and empire bodice with pleats from the shoulder giving a soft fullness and puff sleeves. In the second act Joan makes a brief appearance in a dressing gown of pale green patterned with largo white and deep green flowers over China silk pyjamas. For the third act Mrs. Greenleaf wears a trim navy sheer frock with white collar and cuffs, while Joan chooses a delightful American model of Rose du Barry with a tiny pattern of navy and white. This is made with a slightly flared skirt and softly shirred bodice, the waist being finished with a white belt.
