Business Girls’ Inter-house Championship
By kind permission of the manager of the T. and G. Assurance Company a flag will be flown at 11 a.m. on tha* building at 11 a.m. should it bo necessary to postpone the girls' inter-house
championships to-day on account of the weather. This is the final announcement concerning one of the cleverest functions staged by the Palmerston North ladies. Months of preparation are involved. The exercises are performed with precision and each competitor is the picture of health. A moderate charge is made at the gate and stands are free. The management propose that, should the function not be supported as it should be, residents of Palmerston North will next year be paid Is adults and 6d children to attend. In every direction it is said that Palmerston North is a difficult city to get the public interested. That statement is going to be the basis for a long, long war.
