French Destroyer Sinks Two U-Boats
C liy Telegraph —Press Assn. —Copyright.) tßecelved 24, 12.45 p.m.) PARIS, Nov. 23. An Admiralty communique describes how the destroyer Sirocco sank two submarines In three days. A seaplane reported a submarine and dropped a buoy, to which the destroyer hastened at full speed, firing two chains of depth bombs. Suddenly the crew shouted and the submarine emerged slowly astern, listing badly, but foundered in a few seconds. The Sirocco saw the silhouette oi a second submarine in the moonlight and steamed at full speed towards it, firing a five-inch gun. The first shell found its mark. The submarine dived suddenly, and the destroyer passed over the spot twice, dropping depth bombs. The bow of the submarine rose vertically, and then suddenly plunged straight down. > n MTi u uTTiu
