Exceptionally heavy vardings of both pigs and poultry were received by tht Dominion Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, at their weekly sale held on Thursday. Stores and porkers were in good demand, weuners being a little easier in price. With new pens available, a large quantity of poultry esme forward and over 3 200 birds were disposed of at the undermentioned prices. Fruit and produce were in the usual supply. Pigs: Best weaners, 20s, 21s Gd to 245; medium weaners, 16s 6d, 17s 6d to 19s; small to backward, 12s to 14s; slips, 25s to 26s Gd; stores, 28s, 33s Gd to 38s; porkers, £2, £2 35s to £3 3s; sow, £3. Poultry: Best W.L. hens, Gs Gd to 7s 6d per pair; heavy 8.0. hens, 8s to 9s per pair; light hens, 3s to ss; young ducks, 10s to 31s; old ducks, 3s to 6s; spring cockerels, heavy, 5s to 7s; medium, 3s to ss; small, Is Gd to 2s 6d; turkey gobblers, to 3Gs Gd each; hens, to Gs; geese, 4s Gd each; pullets, to 6s each; liens and chicks, 10s to 15s each.
