“Maginot Green” And “Great Guns”
New women’s fashions in London havo been given war names, all three Fighting Services being well represented. Maginot Green is one of the season’s new colours. The designer described it “as a cross between modern greenish khaki and dull grass green." At a dress display this week skirts were shortish. Black house dresses had sequin embroidered yokes to brighten them. One had this in French Blue. Topically named models included “Firearms” —a draped, sculptured evening dress in geranium sc-arlet marocain; “Soldier Boy," a collarless coat and short skirt in striped woollen material and “Great Guns"—a satin evening dress in armoured-car grey.
