From Our Own Correspondent. Women’s Institute Committee A meeting of the womens institute committee was held last week. Mrs. F. M. Bradley presided. The committee decided to ask members having handwork suitable for the exhibition of institute work for the Centennial Exhibition to bring same to the institute's meeting next week. An executive member will be present to select articles. A vote of thanks to Mesdames Russell and McDowall, who arranged the winning half-yearly report, was carried. For October an endeavour will be made to obtain a lecture on "Treatment of the Hair.’’ The competitions will be a vase of spring flowers and a jar of marmalade. The competitions for November jvill be a vase of roses and the best novelty. Members are asked to contribute a small gift for the Christmas parcel for Makogal Beper Station. Gifts of money, toys, etc., wool or embroidery cottons are all acceptable. Personal and General Congratulations to Miss Joyce Bennett, who recently passed her final music examination. Farmers are looking for a respite from the exceedingly wet conditions prevailing. The ground is saturated, even In the drier situations.
