Hewitt 87, R. GalbalJy 86, A. Wagner 80. Miss R. Wagner 67. PAHIATUA PLACINGS WAIRARAPA CHAMPIONSHIP SHOOT Tho following competitors from Pahiatua and district were “in the money" at tho Wairarapa Aliniature Rifle Association’s chamxnonsnip meeting, held at Grey town on Saturday: A. Tait (Mangamutu) and G. H. Day (Makomako;, with 98 each in the A grade section of the Wairarajia match, and R. G. McKenzie (Bailance), with 93 in the A grade section of the Wellington match. At the conclusion of the shoot, the president (Mr. W. Johnston) thanked the competitors for their attendance and commended the high standard oi the shooting. He then jiresented Colonel H. E. Hart's shield and the association's gold medal to tho champion shot of the meeting, Mr. L. Hare, whose shooting was remarkable. Ho dropped only three shots in 400. He congratulated Mr. Hare aud called for cheers for him, which were lustily given. He also presented trophies given by himself to the best shooters in the combined pairs, Miss B. Calder and Mr. L. Hare, with a score of 586.
