During excavations at Vasteras (Sweden) remains of the Royal Alint, which was founded there in 1285, have been found. The Alint w’as started by King Alagnus Ladulas and was in use until tho reign of King John 111. (1568-1592). Amateur plays and concerts, given by tho prisoners in Alaidstone Gaol, in Kent, have proved so successful that a permanent theatre is to be provided. It will also bo available for film shows.
