Bleak and wintry conditions prevailed on the links on Saturday, but as usual a large number of golfers were unable to resist this fascinating game. Mrs. C. Curtis reduced her C grade handicap by one. Miss N. Pearce still holds the challenge button. The ladies will start playing a Yankee tournament next week and choose partners from their own section. Weather permitting, Feilding C grade ladies will visit the local links next Tuesday. Play will commence at 1 o'clock. Players to represent Beaconsfleld are: Mrs. Wither, Mrs. D. Old, Miss Clare, Miss D. Shannon, Mrs. Snell, Mrs. Curtis, Mrs. Corpe, Miss Pearce, Miss N. Old, Mrs. ,7. Old, Mrs. Short, Mrs. A. Miss T. Old. The best cards handed in by the men on Saturday were: C. Curtis, 2 down; J. Snell, 2 dawn: E. Woollams, 5 down; J. Old, 6 down; E. Buchanan, 6 down. For the week-end competition: J. Old, 5 down; J. A great amount of interest is being taken in the silver buttons and each time a challenge is put in the challenger pays a small sum which goes to swell the club funds. Personal Mr. G. Coggin motored to Wellington on Friday to attend the Younger— Blamires wedding.
