Wedding of Apiti And Kimbolton Interest

LEWIS—HOOPER Families well known in Apiti and Kimbolton districts were linked by the wedding at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church on Thursday afternoon last of May Herbclene, the younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hooper, of Apiti, and Harold Eldridge (“Boy”), fourth son of Mrs. and tho late Mr. P. Lewis, Valley Road, Kimbolton. Escorted by her father, the girlish brido was an attractive picture in a lovely gown of chalk-whito ueedleruu lace over taffeta faille. The frock was figure-fitting and the long sieves were ornamented with bands of faggotting. while tho bodice featured a narrow fischu and tho square neckline was linished a dainty spray of orango blossom. Tho embroidered tulle veil, lent by a cousin, Mrs. K. Noble, was worn well back on the head and arranged from a coronet of orange blossom buds and fell in billowy folds to form a train. Silver shoes and a beautiful bouquet of white chrysanthemums, sprays of lily-of-the-valley and maidenhair fern tied with white ribbon completed tho bridal toilette. Mrs. A. H. McNae, of Feildmg. attended her sister as matron-of-honour, wearing a very becoming redingoto of coral pink georgette over satin of the same shade. A Juliet cap of silver sequins matched the silver shoes. Her bouquet was of pink roses and buds tied with pink ribbons. Mr. S. Lewis was his brother 's best man. Rev. L. J. Hodson, of Apiti, performed the coremony, and the church organist, Mr. Matheson, played the wedding music. Seventy guests were invited to the reception at the Carlton tea-rooms, and Mr. and Mrs. Hooper, assisted by Mrs. Lewis, received tho guests. The bride’s mother wore a smart light navy tailored suit, navy velour hat trimmed with an ostrich feather mount. A spray of mauve orchids was pinned in her fur. Mrs. Lewis woro a navy suit and hat to match. Rev. Mr. Hodson was the toast-master and the customary toasts were honoured. Tho young couple were tho recipients of a splendid array of gifts. When leaving by car for a wedding trip to the north, the brido wore a navy taillcur with blouse of blush-pink crepe do chine and peachbloom navy felt hat, navy accessories and furs. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lewis will be making their new home at Hunterville. ,
