Evening Wedding at St. Peter’s Church

HANSEN—GORE A pretty wedding of district interest was celebrated at St. Peter’s Church, Terrace End, oh the evening of July 1 when Lily May, only daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. Thomas Gore, of Newbury Line, Palmerston North, was married to Andreas Frost, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Hausen, of Palmerston. North. Rev. A. J. Parnell, of Ashhurst, was the officiating clergyman and Mr. If. S. Porteous presided at the organ. Escorted by lier brother (Mr. Jack Gore), the bride was becomingly attired in a lovely frock of white patterned cloque fashioned on classic lines, the shirred bodice having a high neckline, and long leg o’ mutton sleeves linished with tiny buttons which also adorned the back of the bodice, the skirt forming in a long train. Her veil was held to her head with a half-circlet, of orango blossom and her bouquet was composed of St. Joseph lilies, carnations, freesias and maiden hair fern with long trails of freesias. Miss Anne Rolander, of Auckland (chief), and Miss Clara Palmer, of Bunnythorpe, were the bridesmaids and were similarly attired in picture frocks of cyclamen shaded taffeta, shirred at the waistline and on the short sleeves, I the skirts draped to show the underskirts of deeper shaded taffeta. They iwore toning veils and carried bouquets of chrysanthemums, cyclamen and maiden hair fern. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Matthew Thomas, of BunnyIhorpe, Mr. Jack Gore, of Newbury, being the groomsman while the ushers at the church were Messrs. H. Robson (Bunnythorpe) and C. Hansen (Nelson). At the reception following held at the Jade tearooms some 150 guests were received by Mrs. Gore who woro a maroon crepe model frock with hat and accessories to tpnp her bouquet being in contrasting autumn shades. Mrs. Hansen, mother of the bridegroom, who assisted, wore a navy tailored suit, with matchng hat and accessories, her bouquet eing also iu autumn shades. Rev, Mr. Darnell was toastmaster and following he Loyal toast proposed that to the appy couple. Mr. Jack Goro honoured ho bridesmaids, Rev. Mr. Farnell the arents, and at the request of the bride, i special toast was accorded her grandnother, Mrs. Robinson, of Wanganui. The handsome three-tiered cake was cut with duo ceremony and many felicitations offered, also messages read out including cables from relatives in Australia. , Guests at the wedding had come from Auckland, Rotorua, Hamilton, Wanganui, Wellington, also Palmerston North. I When the bride and bridegroom left ,onamotor tour of the North Island |the bride appeared for travelling in a ■ Marina blue model frock finished with gold buttons and buckle over which sbo wore a navy camel hair coat, navy hat, gloves and handbag, also a fur necklet, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridegroom’s gift to Miss Rolander was a signet ring and to Miss Palmer he presented a reading lamp. Mr. and Mrs. Hansen will in future ; reside at Newbury Line, Palmerston North.
