DUNEDIN, July 21. Tlio offences -wore deliberately planned, and it would be improper to grant probation, said Mr. Justice Smith in sentencing Harry Vivian Smith to four months’ without hard labour for breaches of tho Bankruptcy Act. His Honour added that accused, had carried out a fraudulent schemo to place goods beyond the reach of creditors. Commenting that it was with considerable hesitation, His Honour admitted 1 George Rankin Aston, aged 29, to 1 probation for IS mouths’ on a serious charge. Frederick Gordon, aged 33, was admitted to probation for throe years and ordered to take out a prohibition order on a charge of robbery with violence.
