William Howard, a former member of the Marino Union, testified that Harry Bridges boasted of his Communist membership in 1936. lie also alleged that Bridges packed union meetings with Communist “stooges or sympathisers. ’ ’
A letter written by Sapiro, the disbarred lawyer, to the Committee of Industrial Organisation, was read into the record to-day. It alleged that Bridges not only was a Communist, but also placed Communists, in key positions in the Pacific Coast Unions.
the capsize and sinking of tho Walrus amphibian ’piano of tho Achilles off Aitutaki on July 15 was held aboard, Captain Parry presiding, states a radio message received by the Press Association.
Evidence was given in camera by Pilot-Lieutenant Sykes and LeadingTelegraphist Trent, the only two in the ’plane at the time, and Commander Neane, tho officer in charge of the cruiser at the time, and other witnesses of a sudden accident. The finding will be sent to Commodore Rivett-Carnae, -who will decide if it is necessary to hold a Naval Board inquiry into the unfortunate accident.
