Sir Harry Batterbee, British High Commissioner, was amused to find, when he was introduced to the ‘ ‘ mystery man” who earlier drove a car, whilst blindfolded and bound through the streets to the Hawera Winter Show, that the performer was none other than the president of the Ilawera Chamber of Commerce (Mr E. K. Cameron) who is also a well-known amateur magician. He was even more amused, however, when Mr Cameron said, “You have to know something about magic if you want to stay in business these days! ”
