Feilding Boy Scouts
RUGBY MATCH AGAINST MARTO'N At the Manchester Street School grounds on Saturday morning the Feilding Boy Scouts played a Rugby match against a team from the Marton Scouts. The game resulted in a win for the Feilding team by 6 points to 3. The teams were:— Feilding: D. Illston, C. Garnett, R. Towler, W. Funnell, P. Munro, M. Velvin, H. Wong, R. Wilton, F. McDonald, G. Stewart, A. Stewart, I. Freebairn, S. Bowater, J. Bowater, K. Stevens and N. Cleland. Marton: D. Ward, L. Thompson, R. Fenwick, R. Cameron, D. Watson, G. Holdaway, R. Sawyers, S. Twjgg, B. Sawyers, D. Barr, Y. Grant, R. Sole, W. Towler, R. Torrens and Y. Simcox. Tug-of-War Match. In the tug-of-war competition, ten pulls, Feilding won 8 and Marton 2. The visitors were the guests of the home Scouts and spent an altogether thoroughly enjoyable day in Feilding.
