Early Lamb. The appearance of the first of the new season’s lambs occurred on the McKinlay Estate, Papatawa, on Thursday. It is a sturdy little creature and seems to be thriving. Church Services. An increasing activity among returned soldiers began with the new year and in tho course of a definite campaign to stimulate interest in the R.S.A. aud its work entertaining gatherings are being arranged for 1 ‘diggers.” A lecture on modern flying organisation is being given at the R.S.A. Club to-night as advertised. Kumeroa Farmers’ Union. At a recent meeting of the Kumeroa branch of the N.Z. Farmers* Union it was decided that the branch should disband and members join tho Woodville branch. This consolidation it was felt would benefit all parties. Mr. A. Ramsden presided. A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr. J. Watson, Wairarapa provincial secretary was passed. It was proposed that the many years ’ service of Mr. R. Patterson for the Kumeroa branch should bo suitably recognised.
