“Premiere ”

Inspector Bonnard was taking an evening off at the first night of a new j show when he was called backstage. The j impresario had been shot dead in his box during a scene in which revolvers were used on the stage. A nice little story it turned out to be, for tho impresario seemed to have more mortal enemies in the theatre than any blackguard could have.

The detective, played by forceful John Lodge, heaved a sigh and left the auditorium and after disentangling the threads of hate, jealously and intrigue that ran through the story he unearthed, he finds the murderer before the end of the show • » and as his “silly-ass”

English friend remarks, 1 'Nice show, what!” he turns round with a sardonic . . . . “We must come and see it some time! ’ ’ Such is the iliain theme of “Premiere.” In the company with the over-attractive John Lodge, we find Judy Kelly, giving a beautifully poised rendering of the lovely leading lady whose affairs are one of the causes of the murder, and Joan Marion as the prima donna she has displaced.
