Birthday Party Tendered
A very pleasant evening was enjoyed by a large circle of friends of Mrs. G. Tims, Victoria Avenue, Palmerston North, on the occasion of a birthday party given in her honour at the Business Girls* Club, Rangitikei Street, on May 20, there being an attendance of about 60. Dahcing and very acceptable items were enjoyed by all and mention must be made of the outstanding performance of Mr. Prince and company, with saxaphone and three piano-accordeons. The pianist, Mr. George Dawson, played for most of the dances, and his services were much appreciated. Miss Mann gave an entertaining tapdance and Mr. Carr, with two vocal items, evoked enthusiastic applause. A number of very attractive frocks were worn and with the tastefully arranged decorations by the hostess, made a very charming picture. Dances were arranged and conducted by Mr. Baker, who was an efficient M.C., and Mrs. Tims, who has been a resident of Palmerston North for about 25 years, thoroughly enjoyed herself and thanked everyone for their kind wishes and tokens of remembrance.
