Maternity Benefits
In our advertising columns to-day formal notification is given of the coming into operation on May 15 of maternity benefits provided under the Social Security Act. Particulars are given as to the range of the services that are the subject of the benefits. An appended list correct to May 10 shows hospitals (public and private) in which the benefits are available and in addition the obstetric nurses aud medical practitioners who have entered into contracts with the Alinister of Health to provide services. It will be seen that benefits are available in many places throughout the Dominion and tho Health Department advise that additions are being made daily. Explanatory leaflets detailing the procedure in connection with these benefits are being made available at offices of the health and the Social Security Departments. It must be emphasised that benefits are obtainable only from those whose names appear in the official list.
