A hardship inflicted upon wholesalers and retailers of lemons under the Government’s new marketing scheme was referred to by a leading Auckland merchant. Under this scheme it was stated, the public could purclias* lemons from growers for their own consumption, but not for resale. This precluded wholesalers and retailers dealing direct with the grower, creating an anomaeous position.
