Competitions Humour Competitions have their humorous side that is not confined to tho strictly humorous items on tho programme. One judge at the Mauawatu festival at tho Opera House yesterday was amazed to hear a, girl announce “Matilda' who was burned to death for telling lies by Hilaire Belloc” all in one breath. It is hardly necessary to add that his curiosity to leam the lies that had been told by the well-known author was not satisfied.
