Internal Loan is To be Offered
MR. SAVAGE MAKES STATEMENT Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 10. *‘l have nothing to say about this at all,” said the Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, commenting on a telegraphic report from Christchurch that the Government intended to raise a £3,000,000 internal loan. “We are offering an internal loan presently,” he continued, “but we have not yet fixed the conditions or the amount.’’ The caucus of the Parliamentary Labour Party has commenced and is likely to continue two days. Mr. Savage stated that this morning there had been a discussion on import control and he expected a good deal of time to be spent discussing defence.
