Inter-house Basketball
Y.M.O.A. COMPETITIONS The entries for this year's indoor inter-house basketball competition conducted by the Y.M.C.A., constitutes a record, 49 teams comprising 26 ladies, and 23 men's being entered. The following are the gradings of the teams: — Ladies' A grade: Watchorns, P.D.C. A, High School Old Girls, Collinson and (junninghame, Woolworths A, Junior Labour A, Libertyland A, Collinson and Son, C.M.R. A, Public Service, McKenzie's, Glaxo, Rosco. Ladies’ B grade: St. Pat's Old Girls, Libertyland B, P.D.C. B, Ladies' Gym., Bramac, Mao Duffs, P. and T., Technical Old Girls, C.M.R. B, Woolworths B, Manawatu Canvas Coy., United Upholsteresses, Junior Labour B. Men's A Grade: Y.M.C.A., Berrys, Y.M.D., Allans Specials, Harmonica Rascals, Y.M.C.A. Cricket Club, Rover Scouts, City Council, P.D.C. A, Y.M.C.A. Swimming Club, Selwyn Motors. Men's B Grade: P.D.C. B, Woolworths, Mechanicians, Collinson and Cunninghame, Combined Burnishers, Junior Labour B, Clausens, Caterpillar, Bth. Battery, Broadway Hockey, Superior Upholsterers, Labour Party A. The national indoor basket-ball championships are to be held at Wellington on June 3 and 5, and Messrs. C. Woods and G. Foster have been apjjointed selectors to pick the teams to represent Manawatu on this occasion. The local competition is to commence on Wednesday next, April 26, and will continue ou Wednesday and Saturday evenings until early October. The following is the draw and times of play for the lirst week’s matches:— Wednesday, April 26. Women’s A Grade: High School O.G. v. C. & C, 8 p.m.; Watchorns v. P.D.C. A, 8.45 p.m.; Woolworths A a bye. Women's B Grade: Libertyland B v. St. Pats 0.G., 9.45 p.m.; Women's Gym. v. P.D.C. B, 9.15 p.m.; MacDutfs v. Bramac, 8.15 p.m. Men's A Grade: Y.M.C.A. v. Berrys, 8.30 p.m.; Allans Specials v. Y.M.D., 9.30 p.m.; Harmonica Rascals a bye. Men's B Grade: Woolworths v. P.D.C. B, 9 p.m.; Mechanicians v. C. & C., 10 p.m. Saturday, April 29. Women's A Grade: Junior Labour Party A v. Libertyland A, 6.30 p.m.; Collinson and Son v. C.M.R. A, 7.30 p.m.; Public Service v. McKenzies, 5.30 p.m.; Glaxo v.
