The old French liner Angers caught fire last night in the Naval demolition dock at Laseyne, near Marseilles. The fire burnt itself out. It is believed to have been caused accidentally by a blowlamp, but an inquiry has been ordered. The nearby arsenal and petrol depot was not affected. ARREST MADE IN CASE OP THE PARIS SHIPS WATCHMAN CHARGED Received Tuesday, 7.30 p.m. TARIS, April 23. Cesar Franck, aged 19, who gave the alarm concerning the fire on the liner Paris, was arrested and charged with arson. Franck, who was one of the ship’s watchmen, admitted tripping over and disconnecting the floodlight wire after which flames shot from the bakeiy.
