Not Permitted Here Referring to his recent visit to Australia at the meeting of the Palmerston North River Board on Monday, Trustee J. Hodgens said that in Sydney nc had seen a thing not permitted in New Zealand. Crates which contained a truckload of bricks or three yards of sand were hoisted up nine or 23 storeys above the street, together with the operator. In New Zealand the hoisting of a man on a crate, was not allowed. STRANGER’S HAND IN HIS POCKET. It was in a crowd that he felt someone’s hand in his pocket. But the mistake was soon explained. His neighbour was feeling for his tin of Pulmonas in the wrong pocket. “Have one! They keep me free from ’flu I” he explained. The vapours disinfect the breathing system. Carry a tin of Pulmonas Pastilles. Always handy. 1/-, 1/6, 2/6 everywhere.
