THE SPA AT PIESTA NY.—The Czechoslovakian Republic contains over 170 curative and. thermal spas, the most important of these being found in the province of Bohemia; hut both Moravia and Slovakia possess notable health resorts with famous warm waters. Piestany , a town of some seven thousand inhabitants , lies on the banks of the River Vah in Western Slovakia and the annual number of visitors to the hot springs situated in the locality are estimated at 20,000.
