Maori Sentenced to Ten Years’ Gaol
DEATH OF WIFE Per Press Association. GISBORNE, Last Nignt. Ecwi Kerohi, alias Dave Grace, who was found guilty of the manslaughter of his wife at Tuparoa, was sentenced by Air. Justice Northcroft to-day to ten years’ imprisonment. Counsel sought leniency because of war wounds and because the prisouer had been drinking, but his Honour said that, although the‘prisoner was subject to fits of violence and passion, possibly caused by drink, ho did not think in that case that the prisoner did not know what he was doing.
