From Our Own CorresDondenL Miniature Rifle Club. Seventeen members were present at the annual meeting of the Shannon Miniature Rifle Club. In the absence of the president, Mr V. J. Simpson, who is on an extended holiday in the Souts Island, Mr A. Birss was elected to the chair. Air Bfl-ss commented on the very satisfactory state of the balance sheet, which disclosed a credit of £l3. A number of inter-club matches had been fired for the T.M.O.L, Shield, which had changed hands several times. Competition for ladder positions hud been very keen and a number of firstyear shooters had shown promise of becoming crack-shots. Mr Birss congratulated Air 1. Hemmingson on his success in winning the first year shooters’ cup, donated by Alessrs G. Barber and W. Richardson, of Aloutoa. The election of officers resulted as follows; Patron. Air T. Moynihan; president, Air V. J. Simpson; vicepresidents, Messrs W. Clough and J. Hennessey; secretary, Mr I. Hemmingson; treasurer, Air O. Tippler; club captain, Air J. Lucinsky; vice-captain. Air R. AlcKenzie; range officers, Alessrs J. Reid and Id. Southee; coaches,, all senior members. In recognition of his generous gift to the newly-formed club last year, of a range rifle, it was decided to elect Air H. Southee a life-member of the club. The fixing of the opening date was left for discussion at a future meeting.
