Ngawapurua Settlers at Gorge FIRE BRIGADE OUTING AT RAUMAI In the picturesque surroundings of the Woodville Gorge Domain the suppliers of the Riverbauk factory and other settlers of the Ngawapurua district gathered on Saturday for a picnic outing which proved successful and very enjoyable. The weather -was summery, so that both the bush and water proved popular for relief after energy had been spent in the race programme designed for young and old. Morgan 3. Women’s nail-driving: Mrs. F. W. Knapp 1, Mrs. C. Morgan 2, Mrs. G. Walther 3. Men's nail-driving: It. It. Johnston 1, H. Morgan 2, H. D. Lovell 3. Settlers' handicap: J..Hanaray 1, V. H. Rofe 2, C. G. Judd 3. Settlers wives’ race: Mrs. B. Clark 1, Mrs. P. De La Haye 2, Mrs. L. Williams 3. Thread-the-needle race: R. Williams and Miss I. Morgan 1, A. M. Judd and Miss M. Singers 2. Izakson and W. Marshall controlled tho events for the adults. FIRE BRIGADE VISITS RAUMAI ANNUAL PICNIC UN SUNDAY The Woodville Fire Brigade’s annual picnic was held on Sunday, and the spot chosen was the Raumai reserve, Pohangina Valley. The weather being lino and hot, the outing attracted a large gathering and a very enjoyable day was spent. The following are the results of the races: — Men's open race: J. Lorrigan 1, C.
