cert gave an assurance that several members of the priesthood, aud possibly the Bishop, would be present, and that nothing likely to offend public taste would occur, the Rotorua Borough Council decided to insist that humorous and national dancing items included in tho . programme for the suggested Irish i national concert on the night of Sun* May, March 19, be deleted. The Finance Committee, which had considered the programme, recommended that it be approved subject to the deletion of certain items. The promoters of the concert, in a further letter, said they were prepared to delete the humorous items, but asked that national dancing items be permitted. They added that care would be taken that no section of the programme was likely to prove unsuitable for Sun’day entertainment.
