Feilding Anglican Church

YOUNG MEN’S CLUB FORAIED Arising out of a meeting of young men called by Archdeacon F. H. Petrie, of St. John’s Anglican Church, Feilding, it was decided to form a young men’s club and Biblo class. Outlining the proposed activities of the organisation, Air. Petrie said that the club would be a social one, having as its aim the provision of facilities which would interest the young members of the Church and Bible classes and would incorporate indoor games, dances, a gymnasium and physical culture instruction. As the membership grew tliero would follow senior and junior divisions. In the meantime tho parish hall would bo available and later the kindergarten building. Air. 11. C. Hausmann considered that the formation of the club was very desirable. , Air. P. B. Desmond agreed that Feilding’s young Anglicans should be catered for. Archdeacon Petrie said he would like the organisation to be known as the loung Alen’s Institute. Air. W. Lowe (curate) said the organisation would act as a “feeder” to the Church, and made helpful suggestions as to tho programme of activities to be undertaken. It was agreed that a club be formed, and that the election of officers be held at a subsequent meeting.
