“Mr. Wong—Detective”
(Kosy: .Screening Friday.) At last tho famous character from Collier's series of stories, James Lee Wong, appears on tho screen, introducing another character masterpiece by Boris Karloff. Thero have already been such characters as Mr Moto and Charlie Chan to thrill audiences in unusual detective stories, and now Mr Wong has arrived. Karloff has established himself as the logical contender for tho throne vacated by Lon Chaney’s death, and with each new characterisation ho more firmly establishes his popularity. His latest study as the mysterious Mr Wong eclipses his past performances. The associate feature is “His Exciting Night," which stars Charles Buggies, who is ably supported in this comedy by Ona Munsen, Regis Tqomcy, Benny Baker, and tho one and only coloured comedian, Stepin Fctchit.
